Edecrin is a strong "water pill" (diuretic). Using too much of Edecrin can lead to serious water and mineral loss. Therefore, it is important that you be monitored by your doctor. Promptly notify your doctor if you become very thirsty, have a dry mouth, become confused, or develop muscle cramps/weakness.

Edecrin is used for:

Treating swelling due to congestive heart failure, liver problems, and severe kidney problems. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Edecrin is a loop diuretic. It works by making the kidneys eliminate larger amounts of electrolytes (especially sodium and potassium salts) and water than normal (diuretic effect). It is useful for treating many conditions in which salt and water retention (eg, edema, swelling) is a problem.

Do NOT use Edecrin if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Edecrin or to sulfonamides

you are unable to urinate

you are taking an aminoglycoside antibiotic (eg, gentamicin) or cephalosporin (eg, cephalexin)

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Edecrin :

Some medical conditions may interact with Edecrin . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have fluid in your abdomen, hearing problems, liver disease, diabetes, low urine output, high blood uric acid levels or gout, a blood disorder, kidney disease, lupus, heart problems or you have had a heart attack, or you are dehydrated

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Edecrin . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen, indomethacin) because the effectiveness of Edecrin may be decreased

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (eg, captopril), aminoglycosides (eg, gentamicin), cephalosporin (eg, cephalexin), or salicylates (eg, aspirin) because serious side effects to the kidneys (decreased ability to urinate) and ears (hearing loss) may occur

Chloral hydrate or corticosteroids (eg, prednisone) because the risk of side effects, such as excessive sweating, rapid heartbeat, stomach bleeding, and changes in blood pressure may be increased

Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), digoxin, or lithium because the side effects may be increased by Edecrin

Use Edecrin as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Edecrin may be taken with or without food.

When you first start taking Edecrin , it may cause an increase in urine or in frequency of urination. If you are taking 1 dose daily, take it in the morning to prevent Edecrin from affecting your sleep. If you are taking more than 1 dose, take the last dose no later than 6 pm.

If you miss a dose of Edecrin , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Edecrin may cause dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Edecrin . Using Edecrin alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks.

Edecrin may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Alcohol, hot weather, exercise, and fever can increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Also, sit or lie down at the first sign of dizziness, lightheadedness, or weakness.

Your doctor may have also prescribed a potassium supplement for you. If so, follow the dosing carefully. Do not start taking additional potassium on your own or change your diet to include more potassium without first checking with your doctor.

Patients being treated for high blood pressure often feel tired or rundown for a few weeks after beginning therapy. Continue taking your medicine even though you might not feel quite "normal." Contact your health care provider or pharmacist about any new symptoms.

Patients being treated for high blood pressure should avoid using nonprescription medicines that contain stimulants, such as products used for dieting (appetite suppressants) or relieving cold symptoms (eg, pseudoephedrine).

Edecrin may cause increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Edecrin . Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you must be outside for a prolonged period.

Diabetes patients - Edecrin may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine.

LAB TESTS, including complete blood cell counts and blood pressure monitoring, may be performed to monitor your progress. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

Use Edecrin with caution in the ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to its effects.

Caution is advised when using Edecrin in CHILDREN because they may be more sensitive to its effects.

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Edecrin during pregnancy. It is unknown if Edecrin is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Edecrin .

Possible side effects of Edecrin :

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

Dizziness; headache; lightheadedness; loss of appetite; nausea; restlessness; tiredness or weakness; upset stomach; vomiting.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); blurred vision; confusion; diarrhea; drowsiness; dry mouth; excessive urination; fever; hearing loss; loss of appetite; muscle pain/cramps/weakness; muscle spasm; rapid or irregular heartbeat; restlessness; ringing in the ears; seeing a yellow color; seizures; severe dizziness; sudden joint pain; unusual bleeding or bruising; unusual thirst; unusual tiredness or weakness; vomiting; yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Store Edecrin at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep in a tight, light-resistant container. Exposure to light may cause a slight discoloration. Do not take discolored tablets. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Edecrin out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Dalteparin

Tell your doctor you use Dalteparin before you have any type of spinal puncture or epidural/spinal anesthesia. Patients who have these procedures while they use Dalteparin are at risk of developing a blood clot on or near the spinal cord. This could result in long-term or permanent paralysis.

The risk is increased in patients who have an indwelling epidural catheter, traumatic or repeated epidural or spinal puncture, a history of a deformed spine or spinal surgery, and in patients who use medicines that may affect blood clotting such as warfarin, aspirin, platelet inhibitors (eg, clopidogrel), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen, naproxen).

If you have a spinal puncture or epidural/spinal anesthesia while you use Dalteparin , tell your doctor immediately if you notice any signs or symptoms of nerve problems, such as numbness or tingling, muscle weakness, or paralysis.

Dalteparin is used for:

Preventing blood clots in patients who have certain illnesses or who will be having certain types of surgeries. It is also used along with aspirin to prevent certain problems caused by heart attacks or unstable angina (chest pain). It is also used to reduce the recurrence of blood clots in certain cancer patients. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Dalteparin is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). It works by blocking the formation of blood clots.

Do NOT use Dalteparin if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Dalteparin

you are allergic to heparin, benzyl alcohol, or pork products

you have active severe high blood pressure, major bleeding, or a history of low platelets or bleeding problems due to the use of heparin

you are receiving Dalteparin for unstable chest pain or heart attack and will be receiving local anesthesia

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Dalteparin :

Some medical conditions may interact with Dalteparin . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have a history of kidney problems, liver problems, stomach or intestinal problems (eg, ulcers), stroke, or vision problems caused by diabetes or high blood pressure

if you have inflammation of the heart due to a bacterial infection, or severe, uncontrolled high blood pressure

if you have a bleeding disorder, a history of brain bleeding or blood conditions, or von Willebrand disease

if you have recently had or are scheduled to have brain, spine, or eye surgery, an epidural catheter, or a spinal puncture

if you are taking medicines that affect platelets (eg, aspirin, clopidogrel, ticlopidine)

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Dalteparin . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Activated protein C, anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), dextran, dipyridamole, direct factor XA inhibitors (eg, rivaroxaban), direct thrombin inhibitors (eg, dabigatran), injectable cephalosporins (eg, cephazolin), injectable penicillins (eg, ampicillin), NSAIDs (eg, ibuprofen, ketorolac, naproxen), platelet inhibitors (eg, clopidogrel, ticlopidine), salicylates (eg, aspirin), sulfinpyrazone, or thrombolytics (eg, streptokinase) because the risk of side Use Dalteparin as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Dalteparin is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. If you are using Dalteparin at home, carefully follow the injection procedures taught to you by your health care provider.

Do not use Dalteparin if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.

Dalteparin should be given while sitting or lying down.

Use the proper technique taught to you by your doctor. Inject deep under the skin, NOT into muscle.

Dalteparin may be injected in a U-shape around the navel, the upper outer thigh, or the upper outer section of the buttock. The injection site should be changed daily. When injection around the navel or thigh is used, a fold of skin must be held by the thumb and forefinger while the injection is given. The entire needle should be injected at a 45- to 90-degree angle.

Fixed dose syringes - To ensure delivery of the full dose, do not expel the air bubble from the prefilled syringe before injection. Hold the syringe assembly by the open sides of the device. Remove the needle shield. Insert the needle into the injection area. Depress the plunger of the syringe while holding the finger flange until the entire dose remaining in the syringe has been given. The needle guard will not be activated unless the entire dose has been given. Remove the needle from the patient. Let go of the plunger and allow the syringe to move up inside the device until the entire needle is guarded. Discard the assembly in approved containers.

Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of these materials after use. Follow all local rules for disposal.

If you miss a dose of Dalteparin , contact your doctor immediately.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Dalteparin .

Important safety information:

Dalteparin may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. Avoid activities that may cause bruising or injury. Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor if you have dark, tarry, or bloody stools.

Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Dalteparin before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

Before you begin taking any new prescription or nonprescription medicine, check the label to see if it has aspirin or ibuprofen in it. If it does or you are not sure, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Some forms of Dalteparin contain benzyl alcohol. Do not use medicine with benzyl alcohol in NEWBORNS or INFANTS. It may cause serious and sometimes fatal side effects. If you have questions, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have ever had an allergic reaction to benzyl alcohol, ask your doctor or pharmacist if your medicine has benzyl alcohol in it.

Dalteparin may affect certain lab tests, including liver enzyme tests. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are using Dalteparin .

Lab tests, including complete blood cell counts (eg, platelet counts) and tests for blood in the stool, may be performed while you use Dalteparin . These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

Use Dalteparin with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially bleeding.

Dalteparin should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Dalteparin may contain the preservative benzyl alcohol, which can cause harm to the fetus. If you become pregnant, use a formulation without this preservative. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Dalteparin while you are pregnant. Dalteparin is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Dalteparin , check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Bactrim contains a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim and is supplied in tablets and a liquid suspension. Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim are both antibiotics that treat different types of infection caused by bacteria.Bactrim is used to treat ear infections, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, traveler's diarrhea, and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia.

You should not use Bactrim if you are allergic to sulfamethoxazole or trimethoprim, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you have anemia (lack of red blood cells) caused by folic acid deficiency.

Before using Bactrim, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, a folic acid deficiency, asthma or severe allergies, AIDS, a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD deficiency), or if you are malnourished.

Take this medication for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Bactrim will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.

Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or has blood in it, call your doctor. Do not use any medicine to stop the diarrhea unless your doctor has told you to.

Avoid exposure to sunlight, sunlamps, or tanning beds. This medication can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, and a sunburn may result. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) when you are outdoors.

If you have certain conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use this medication. Before using Bactrim, tell your doctor if you have:

· kidney or liver disease;

· a folic acid deficiency;

· asthma or severe allergies;

· AIDS;

· a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD deficiency); or

· if you are malnourished.

Take Bactrim exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Measure liquid medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

Take Bactrim for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Bactrim will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent kidney stones while you are taking trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. Store the tablets and liquid at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

· fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;

· the first sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild;

· pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding;

· cough, feeling short of breath;

· diarrhea that is watery or bloody;

· feeling restless or irritable, confusion, hallucinations, seizure;

· slow heart rate, weak pulse, severe tingling, numbness, muscle pain or weakness;

· nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

· fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; or

· urinating less than usual or not at all.

Less serious Bactrim side effects may include:

· painful or swollen tongue;

· dizziness, spinning sensation;

· ringing in your ears;

· joint pain; or

· sleep problems (insomnia).

Tell your doctor about all other medications you use, especially:

· seizure medication such as phenytoin (Dilantin);

· a diuretic (water pill);

· a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);

· methotrexate (Trexall, Rheumatrex); or

· an ACE inhibitor such as benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), enalapril (Vasotec), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), moexipril (Univasc), perindopril (Aceon), quinapril (Accupril), ramipril (Altace), or trandolapril (Mavik).

Abacavir

Abacavir has caused severe and sometimes fatal allergic reactions. Contact your doctor right away if you develop fever; rash; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain; cough; sore throat, or trouble breathing; unusual tiredness or achiness; or general feeling of being unwell. Do NOT take Abacavir again or take any other medicine that contains abacavir if you have had an allergic reaction to Abacavir . You may be at risk for an even more severe allergic reaction.
Patients who have a certain gene type called HLA-B*5701 have an increased risk of allergic reaction. A lab test may be performed before you start Abacavir to see if you have this gene type. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
Abacavir may cause severe and sometimes fatal liver problems or high blood acid levels (lactic acidosis). Contact your doctor right away if you develop yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; pale stools; stomach pain; nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; persistent loss of appetite; fast or difficult breathing; slow or irregular heartbeat; unusual weakness or tiredness; muscle pain or tenderness; unusual feeling of cold (eg, in arms or legs); or unusual drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness.
Abacavir is used for:
Treating HIV infection with other medications.
Abacavir is a nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). It works by slowing down the growth of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
Do NOT use Abacavir if:
you are allergic to any ingredient in Abacavir
you have had a recent abnormal liver function test or have moderate to severe liver problems
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Before using Abacavir :
Some medical conditions may interact with Abacavir . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

How to use Abacavir :
Use Abacavir as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
• Abacavir comes with an extra patient information sheet called a Medication Guide. Read it carefully. Read it again each time you get Abacavir refilled.
• Abacavir comes with a warning card that provides information about recognition of allergic reactions. Carry the warning card of allergy symptoms with you. Tell your health care provider immediately about any side effects you experience while taking Abacavir .
• Take Abacavir by mouth with or without food.
• Using Abacavir at the same times each day will help you remember to take it.
• Continue to take Abacavir even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
• If you miss a dose of Abacavir , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Abacavir .
Important safety information:
• Talk to your doctor before you take Abacavir if you drink more than 3 drinks with alcohol per day.
• Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Abacavir before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
• If you must stop taking Abacavir for any reason other than a serious allergic reaction, do not start taking Abacavir again without talking with your health care provider. If your health care provider decides that you may take Abacavir again, you should do so only in a setting with other people in case you need immediate access to a doctor.
• When your medicine supply is low, get more from your doctor or pharmacist as soon as you can. Do not stop taking Abacavir , even for a short period of time. If you do, the virus may grow resistant to the medicine and become harder to treat.
• Changes in body fat (eg, an increased amount of fat in the upper back, neck, breast, and trunk, and loss of fat from the legs, arms, and face) may occur in some patients taking Abacavir . The cause and long-term effects of these changes are unknown. Discuss any concerns with your doctor.
• Abacavir does not stop the spread of HIV to others through blood or sexual contact. Use barrier methods of birth control (eg, condoms) if you have HIV infection. Do not share needles, injection supplies, or items like toothbrushes or razors.
• Abacavir is not a cure for HIV infection. Patients may still get illnesses and infections associated with HIV. Remain under the care of your doctor.
• Lab tests, including liver function and monitoring for hypersensitivity reactions, may be performed while you use Abacavir . These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Use Abacavir with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially liver, kidney, or heart problems.
• Caution is advised when using Abacavir in CHILDREN; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially fever; chills; rash; or ear, nose, or throat infection.
• Abacavir should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 3 months old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Abacavir while you are pregnant. It is not known if Abacavir is found in breast milk. Mothers infected with HIV should not breast-feed. There is a risk of passing the HIV infection or Abacavir to the baby.
Possible side effects of Abacavir :
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Headache; lack of energy; mild nausea; tiredness; trouble sleeping; unusual dreams; vomiting.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); burning, numbness, or tingling of the skin; change in the amount of urine produced; chest pain or discomfort, numbness of an arm or leg, or sudden vision changes; ear pain; eye pain, redness, or swelling; fainting; fever or chills; general feeling of being unwell; mental or mood changes (eg, depression); mouth sores; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; shortness of breath, cough, or sore throat; stomach pain; swollen lymph nodes; symptoms of lactic acidosis (eg, fast breathing; muscle pain; unusual cold feeling in the arms or legs; sluggishness; unusual drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness); symptoms of liver problems (eg, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools, loss of appetite, severe or persistent tiredness); unusual achiness or swelling.

The United States (US) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Actemra (tocilizumab, RoActemra in the European Union) for the treatment of adult patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate response to one or more tumor necrosis factor (TNF) antagonist therapies. Actemra, the result of a research & development collaboration with Chugai, is the first interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor-inhibiting monoclonal antibody approved to treat RA, may be used alone or in combination with methotrexate or other disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

Actemra Medication Guide

Read this Medication Guide before you start Actemra and before each infusion. There may be new information. This Medication Guide does not take the place of talking with your healthcare provider about your medical condition or your treatment.

What is the most important information I should know about Actemra?

Actemra can cause serious side effects including:
1. Serious Infections
Actemra is a medicine that affects your immune system. Actemra can lower the ability of your immune system to fight infections. Some people have serious infections while taking Actemra, including tuberculosis (TB), and infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses that can spread throughout the body. Some people have died from these infections.
o Your doctor should test you for TB before starting Actemra.
o Your doctor should monitor you closely for signs and symptoms of TB during treatment with Actemra.
You should not start taking Actemra if you have any kind of infection unless your healthcare provider says it is okay.

Before starting Actemra, tell your healthcare provider if you:
o think you have an infection or have symptoms of an infection such as:
 fever, sweating, or chills
 muscle aches
 cough
 shortness of breath
 blood in phlegm
 weight loss
 warm, red, or painful skin or sores on your body
 diarrhea or stomach pain
 burning when you urinate or urinating more often than normal
 feel very tired
o are being treated for an infection
o get a lot of infections or have infections that keep coming back
o have diabetes, HIV, or a weak immune system. People with these conditions have a higher chance for infections.
o have TB, or have been in close contact with someone with TB
o live or have lived, or have traveled to certain parts of the country (such as the Ohio and Mississippi River valleys and the Southwest) where there is an increased chance for getting certain kinds of fungal infections (histoplasmosis, coccidiomycosis, or blastomycosis). These infections may happen or become more severe if you use Actemra. Ask your healthcare provider, if you do not know if you have lived in an area where these infections are common.
o have or have had hepatitis B.
After starting Actemra, call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of an infection. Actemra can make you more likely to get infections or make worse any infection that you have.
2. Tears (perforation) of the stomach or intestines.
o Before taking Actemra, tell your healthcare provider if you have had diverticulitis (inflammation in parts of the large intestine) or ulcers in your stomach or intestines. Some people taking Actemra get tears in their stomach or intestine. This happens most often in people who also take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), corticosteroids, or methotrexate.
o Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have fever and stomach-area pain that does not go away, and a change in your bowel habits.
3. Changes in certain laboratory test results. Your healthcare provider should do blood tests before you start receiving Actemra and every 4 to 8 weeks during treatment to check for the following side effects of Actemra:
o low neutrophil count. Neutrophils are white blood cells that help the body fight off bacterial infections.
o low platelet count. Platelets are blood cells that help with blood clotting and stop bleeding.
o increase in certain liver function tests.
You should not receive Actemra if your neutrophil or platelet counts are too low or your liver function tests are too high.
Your healthcare provider may stop your Actemra treatment for a period of time or change your dose of medicine if needed because of changes in these blood test results. You may also have changes in other laboratory tests, such as your blood cholesterol levels. Your healthcare provider should do blood tests to check your cholesterol levels 4 to 8 weeks after you start receiving Actemra, and then every 6 months after that. Normal cholesterol levels are important to good heart health.
4. Cancer.
Actemra may decrease the activity of your immune system. Medicines that affect the immune system may increase your risk of certain cancers. Tell your healthcare provider if you have ever had any type of cancer. See "What are the possible side effects with Actemra?" for more information about side effects.

What is Actemra?
Actemra is a prescription medicine called an Interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor inhibitor. Actemra is used to treat adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) after at least one other medicine called a Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) antagonist has been used and did not work well.
It is not known if Actemra is safe and effective in children.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before receiving Actemra?
Actemra may not be right for you. Before starting Actemra, tell your healthcare provider if you:
• have an infection. See "What is the most important information I should know about Actemra?"
• have liver problems
• have any stomach-area (abdominal) pain or been diagnosed with diverticulitis or ulcers in your stomach or intestines
• have or had a condition that affects your nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis
• have recently received or are scheduled to receive a vaccine. People who take Actemra should not receive live vaccines. People taking Actemra can receive non-live vaccines
• plan to have surgery or a medical procedure
• have any other medical conditions
• plan to become pregnant or are pregnant. It is not known if Actemra will harm your unborn baby.
• Pregnancy Registry: Genentech has a registry for pregnant women who take Actemra. The purpose of this registry is to check the health of the pregnant mother and her baby. If you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking Actemra, talk to your healthcare provider about how you can join this pregnancy registry or you may contact the registry at 1-877-311-8972 to enroll.
• plan to breast-feed or are breast-feeding. You and your healthcare provider should decide if you will take Actemra or breast-feed. You should not do both.
Tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements. Actemra and other medicines may affect each other causing side effects.
Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take:
• any other medicines to treat your RA. You should not take etanercept (Enbrel), adalimumab (Humira), infliximab (Remicade), rituximab (Rituxan), abatacept (Orencia), anakinra (Kineret), certolizumab (Cimzia), or golimumab (Simponi), while you are taking Actemra. Taking Actemra with these medicines may increase your risk of infection.
• medicines that affect the way certain liver enzymes work. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure if your medicine is one of these.
Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of them to show to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine.
How will I receive Actemra?
• You will receive Actemra from a healthcare provider through a needle placed in a vein in your arm (IV or intravenous infusion). The infusion will take about 1 hour to give you the full dose of medicine.
• You will receive a dose of Actemra about every 4 weeks.
• If you miss a scheduled dose of Actemra, ask your healthcare provider when to schedule your next infusion.
• While taking Actemra, you may continue to use other medicines that help treat your rheumatoid arthritis such as methotrexate, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and prescription steroids, as instructed by your healthcare provider.
• Keep all of your follow-up appointments and get your blood tests as ordered by your healthcare provider.

What are the possible side effects with Actemra?
Actemra can cause serious side effects, including:
• See "What is the most important information I should know about Actemra?"
• Hepatitis B infection in people who carry the virus in their blood. If you are a carrier of the hepatitis B virus (a virus that affects the liver), the virus may become active while you use Actemra. This happens with other biologic medicines used to treat RA. Your doctor may do blood tests before you start treatment with Actemra and while you are using Actemra. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any of the following symptoms of a possible hepatitis B infection:
o feel very tired
o skin or eyes look yellow
o little or no appetite
o vomiting
o clay-colored bowel movements
o fevers
o chills
o stomach discomfort
o muscle aches
o dark urine
o skin rash
• Nervous system problems. Multiple Sclerosis has been diagnosed rarely in people who take Actemra. It is not known what effect Actemra may have on some nervous system disorders.
• Allergic Reactions. Serious allergic reactions can happen with Actemra. These reactions may not happen with your first infusion, and may happen with future infusions of Actemra. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following signs of a serious allergic reaction:
o shortness of breath or trouble breathing
o skin rash
o swelling of the lips, tongue, or face
o chest pain
o feeling dizzy or faint
Common side effects of Actemra include:
• upper respiratory tract infections (common cold, sinus infections)
• headache
• increased blood pressure (hypertension)

What is the most important information I should know about Victoza?
Serious side effects may happen in people who take Victoza, including:
1. Possible thyroid tumors, including cancer. During the drug testing process, the medicine in Victoza caused rats and mice to develop tumors of the thyroid gland. Some of these tumors were cancers. It is not known if Victoza will cause thyroid tumors or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid cancer in people. If medullary thyroid cancer occurs, it may lead to death if not detected and treated early. If you develop tumors or cancer of the thyroid, your thyroid may have to be surgically removed.
o Before you start taking Victoza, tell your healthcare provider if you or any of your family members have had thyroid cancer, especially medullary thyroid cancer, or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Do not take Victoza if you or any of your family members have medullary thyroid cancer, or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. People with these conditions already have a higher chance of developing medullary thyroid cancer in general and should not take Victoza.
o While taking Victoza, tell your healthcare provider if you get a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer.
2. Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which may be severe and lead to death.
Before taking Victoza, tell your healthcare provider if you have had:
o pancreatitis
o stones in your gallbladder (gallstones)
o a history of alcoholism
o high blood triglyceride levels
These medical conditions can make you more likely to get pancreatitis in general. It is not known if having these conditions will lead to a higher chance of getting pancreatitis while taking Victoza.
While taking Victoza:
Stop taking Victoza and call your healthcare provider right away if you have pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that is severe and will not go away. The pain may happen with or without vomiting. The pain may be felt going from your abdomen through to your back. This type of pain may be a symptom of pancreatitis.

What is Victoza?
• Victoza is an injectable prescription medicine that may improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and should be used along with diet and exercise.
• Victoza is not recommended as the first choice of medication for treating diabetes.
• Victoza is not insulin.
• It is not known if Victoza is safe and effective when used with insulin.
• Victoza is not for use in people with type 1 diabetes or people with diabetic ketoacidosis.
• It is not known if Victoza is safe and effective in children. Victoza is not recommended for use in children.
Who should not use Victoza?
Do not use Victoza if:
• you or any of your family members have a history of medullary thyroid cancer.
• you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). This is a disease where people have tumors in more than one gland in their body. Talk with your healthcare provider if you are not sure if you have any of these conditions.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Victoza?
Before taking Victoza, tell your healthcare provider if you:
• have any of the conditions listed in the section "What is the most important information I should know about Victoza?"
• are allergic to liraglutide or any of the other ingredients in Victoza. See the end of this Medication Guide for a list of ingredients in Victoza.
• have severe problems with your stomach, such as slowed emptying of your stomach (gastroparesis) or problems with digesting food.
• have or have had kidney or liver problems.
• have any other medical conditions.
• are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Victoza will harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you become pregnant while taking Victoza.
• are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Victoza passes into your breast milk. You and your healthcare provider should decide if you will take Victoza or breastfeed. You should not do both without talking with your healthcare provider first.
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Victoza slows stomach emptying and can affect medicines that need to pass through the stomach quickly. Victoza may affect the way some medicines work and some other medicines may affect the way Victoza works. Tell your healthcare provider if you take other diabetes medicines, especially sulfonylurea medicines or insulin.
Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of them with you to show your healthcare provider and pharmacist each time you get a new medicine.
How should I use Victoza?
• Use Victoza exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Your dose should be increased after using Victoza for one week. After that, do not change your dose unless your healthcare provider tells you to.
• Victoza is injected 1 time each day, at any time during the day.
• You can take Victoza with or without food.
• Victoza comes in a prefilled pen.
• Your healthcare provider must teach you how to inject Victoza before you use it for the first time. If you have questions or do not understand the instructions, talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist. See the Patient Instructions for Use that come with this Medication Guide for detailed information about the right way to use your Victoza pen.
• Pen needles are not included. You may need a prescription to get pen needles from your pharmacist. Ask your healthcare provider which needle size is best for you.
• When starting a new prefilled Victoza pen, you must follow the "First Time Use for Each New Pen" (see the detailed Patient Instructions for Use that comes with this Medication Guide). You only need to do this 1 time with each new pen. You should also do this if you drop your pen. If you do the "First Time Use for Each New Pen" before each injection, you will run out of medicine too soon.
• Inject your dose of Victoza under the skin (subcutaneous injection) in your stomach area (abdomen), upper leg (thigh), or upper arm, as instructed by your healthcare provider. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
• If you take too much Victoza, call your healthcare provider right away. Too much Victoza may cause severe nausea and vomiting.
• Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for diet, exercise, how often to test your blood sugar, and when to get your HbA1c checked. If you stop using Victoza your blood sugar levels may increase. First talk to your healthcare provider if you want to stop taking Victoza.
• Your dose of diabetes medicines may need to be changed if your body is under certain types of stress. Tell your healthcare provider if you:
o have fever
o have trauma
o have an infection
o plan to have or have had surgery
• Never share your Victoza pen or needles with another person. You may give an infection to them, or get an infection from them.
Victoza side effects
Victoza may cause serious side effects, including:

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Your risk for getting low blood sugar is higher if you take Victoza with another medicine that can cause low blood sugar, such as a sulfonylurea. In some people, the blood sugar may get so low that they need another person to help them. The dose of your sulfonylurea medicine may need to be lowered while you use Victoza. Signs and symptoms of low blood sugar may include:
o shakiness
o sweating
o headache
o drowsiness
o weakness
o dizziness
o confusion
o irritability
o hunger
o fast heartbeat
o feeling jittery
Talk to your healthcare provider about how to recognize and treat low blood sugar. Make sure that your family and other people who are around you a lot know how to recognize and treat low blood sugar.
Common side effects of Victoza include:
• headache
• nausea
• diarrhea
Nausea is most common when first starting Victoza, but decreases over time in most people as their body gets used to the medicine.

How should I store Victoza?
Before use:
• Store your new, unused Victoza pen in the refrigerator at 36ºF to 46ºF (2ºC to 8ºC).
• Do not freeze Victoza or use Victoza if it has been frozen. Do not store Victoza near the refrigerator cooling element.
Pen in use:
• Store your Victoza pen for 30 days either at 59ºF to 86ºF (15ºC to 30ºC), or in a refrigerator at 36ºF to 46ºF (2°C to 8°C).
• When carrying the pen away from home, store the pen at a temperature between 59ºF to 86ºF (15ºC to 30ºC) and keep it dry.
• If Victoza has been exposed to temperatures above 86ºF (30ºC), it should be thrown away.
• Protect your Victoza pen from heat and sunlight.
• Keep the pen cap on when your Victoza pen is not in use.
• Use your Victoza pen within 30 days after the first day it is stored outside the refrigerator. After these 30 days, throw away your Victoza pen even if some medicine is left in the pen.
• Do not use Victoza after the expiration date printed on the carton. Do not store the Victoza pen with the needle attached. Always safely remove and safely throw away the needle after each injection. This may help prevent contamination, infection and leakage. Xenical blocks some of the fat that you eat, keeping it from being absorbed by your body.
Xenical is used together with a reduced-calorie diet and weight maintenance to treat obesity in people with certain risk factors (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol or triglycerides).
Do not take Xenical if you are allergic to orlistat, or if you have gallbladder problems, or chronic malabsorption syndrome (an inability to absorb food and nutrients properly).
Before taking Xenical, tell your doctor if you have an underactive thyroid, a history of gallstones or pancreatitis, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, an eating disorder, liver disease, or if you take other weight-loss medications (prescription or over-the-counter).
Do not give over-the-counter orlistat (Alli) to a child younger than 18 years old. Prescription orlistat (Xenical) should not be used by anyone age 12 to 18 without the advice of a doctor. Xenical should be used only by the person it was prescribed or recommended for and should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history of eating disorder. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it.
Xenical is only part of a complete program of treatment that also includes diet, exercise, and weight control. Your daily intake of fat, protein, and carbohydrates should be evenly divided over all of your daily meals. Follow your diet, medication, and exercise routines very closely.
Take Xenical during or within 1 hour after a meal that contains some fat (no more than 30% of the calories for that meal). Xenical is usually taken 3 times daily. If you skip a meal or you eat a meal that does not contain any fat, skip your Xenical dose for that meal. The fat content of your daily diet should not be greater than 30% of your total daily caloric intake. Avoid a diet that is high in fat. High-fat meals taken in combination with Xenical can increase your risk of unpleasant side effects on your stomach or intestines.
Read the label of all food items you consume, paying special attention to the number of servings per container. Your doctor, nutrition counselor, or dietitian can help you develop a healthy eating plan.
Your doctor may recommend you take vitamin and mineral supplements while you are taking Xenical. This medication can make it harder for your body to absorb fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. Follow your doctor's instructions about the type of multi-vitamin or mineral supplement to use. Take the supplement at least 2 hours before or after you take Xenical.
Do not take Xenical if you are allergic to orlistat, or if you have:
• chronic malabsorption syndrome (an inability to absorb food and nutrients properly); or
• gallbladder problems.
Before taking Xenical, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have:
• an underactive thyroid;
• a history of gallstones;
• a history of pancreatitis;
• liver disease;
• type 1 or type 2 diabetes;
• an eating disorder (anorexia or bulimia); or
• if you take any other weight-loss medications (prescription or over-the-counter).
If you have any of these conditions, you may not be able to use Xenical, or you may need a dosage adjustment or special tests during treatment.
FDA pregnancy category B. This medication is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Taking Xenical can make it harder for your body to absorb certain vitamins. These vitamins are important if you are nursing a baby. Do not use Xenical without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Do not give over-the-counter orlistat (Alli) to a child younger than 18 years old. Prescription orlistat (Xenical) should not be used by anyone age 12 to 18 without the advice of a doctor. Xenical should be used only by the person it was prescribed or recommended for and should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history of eating disorder. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it.
Take Xenical exactly as directed on the label, or as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Xenical comes with patient instructions for safe and effective use. Follow these directions carefully. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Xenical is only part of a complete program of treatment that also includes diet, exercise, and weight control. Your daily intake of fat, protein, and carbohydrates should be evenly divided over all of your daily meals. Follow your diet, medication, and exercise routines very closely.
Take Xenical with a full glass of water. Take Xenical during or within 1 hour after a meal that contains some fat (no more than 30% of the calories for that meal). Xenical is usually taken 3 times daily.
If you skip a meal or you eat a meal that does not contain any fat, skip your Xenical dose for that meal.
The fat content of your daily diet should not be greater than 30% of your total daily caloric intake. For example, if you eat 1200 calories per day, no more than 360 of those calories should be in the form of fat.
Read the label of all food items you consume, paying special attention to the number of servings per container. Your doctor, nutrition counselor, or dietitian can help you develop a healthy eating plan.
Your doctor may recommend you take vitamin and mineral supplements while you are taking Xenical. This medication can make it harder for your body to absorb fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. Follow your doctor's instructions about the type of multi-vitamin or mineral supplement to use.
Take the supplement at least 2 hours before or after you take Xenical.
Store Xenical at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
Keep track of how many pills have been used from each new bottle of this medicine. Xenical is a drug that may be misused as a weight-loss aid, and you should be aware if any person in the household is using this medicine improperly or without a prescription.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, but no more than 1 hour after eating a meal. If it has been more than an hour since your last meal, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at your next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
If you miss a meal, or if you have a meal without fat, you can skip your dose of Xenical for that meal also.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop taking Xenical and call your doctor at once if you have severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting, and a fast heart rate. These could be signs of pancreatitis.
The following side effects occur commonly with the use of Xenical. They are the natural effects of Xenical's fat-blocking action and are actually signs that the medication is working properly. These side effects are usually temporary and may lessen as you continue treatment with Xenical:
• oily spotting in your undergarments;
• oily or fatty stools;
• orange or brown colored oil in your stool;
• gas with discharge, an oily discharge;
• loose stools, or an urgent need to go to the bathroom, inability to control bowel movements;
• an increased number of bowel movements;

Before taking Xenical, tell your doctor if you are using any of the following drugs:
• insulin or diabetes medications you take by mouth;
• cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune);

• levothyroxine (Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid); or
• a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin).
If you are using any of these drugs, you may not be able to use Xenical, or you may need dosage adjustments or special tests during treatment.
There may be other drugs not listed that can affect Xenical. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

Leucovorin (loo-koe-VOR-in) is used as an antidote to the harmful effects of methotrexate (a cancer medicine) that is given in high doses. It is used also to prevent or treat certain kinds of anemia. Leucovorin acts the same way in the body as folic acid, which may be low in these patients.

Leucovorin is also used along with fluorouracil (a cancer medicine) to treat cancer of the colon (bowel).

Leucovorin is available only with a prescription and is to be given only by or under the supervision of your doctor. It is available in the following dosage forms:

In deciding to use a medicine, the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. For leucovorin, the following should be considered:

Allergies—Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to leucovorin. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substance, such as foods, sulfites or other preservatives, or dyes.

Pregnancy—Studies on effects in pregnancy have not been done in either humans or animals.

Breast-feeding—It is not known whether leucovorin passes into the breast milk. However, it has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies.

Children—In children with seizures, leucovorin may increase the number of seizures that occur.

Older adults—Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in younger adults or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people. There is no specific information comparing use of leucovorin in the elderly with use in other age groups.

Other medicines—Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. Other medical problems—The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of leucovorin. If you are taking leucovorin as an antidote to methotrexate, make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

Kidney disease—Levels of methotrexate may be increased because of its slower removal from the body, so the dose of leucovorin may not be enough to block the unwanted effects of methotrexate

Nausea and vomiting—Not enough leucovorin may be absorbed into the body to block the unwanted effects of methotrexate

It is very important that you take leucovorin exactly as directed , especially when it is being taken to counteract the harmful effects of cancer medicine. Do not miss any doses. Also, it is best to take the doses at evenly spaced times day and night . For example, if you are to take 4 doses a day, the doses should be spaced about 6 hours apart. If this interferes with your sleep or other daily activities, or if you need help in planning the best times to take your medicine, check with your health care professional.

Do not stop taking leucovorin without checking with your doctor . It is very important that you get exactly the right amount.

Dosing—The dose of leucovorin will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label . The following information includes only the average doses of leucovorin. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.

The number of tablets or doses of injection that you take depends on the strength of the medicine. Also, the number of doses you take each day, the time allowed between doses, and the length of time you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are taking leucovorin .

Valcyte causes cancer, birth defects, and a lack of sperm production in animals.

Valcyte is used for:

Treating cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the eye in patients with AIDS. It is used to prevent CMV disease in high risk kidney, heart, and kidney-pancreas transplant patients. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Valcyte is an antiviral agent. It works by stopping the growth and reproduction of the virus.

Some medical conditions may interact with Valcyte . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

Any broken or leftover medicine should be placed in a plastic bag and disposed of as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Valcyte may lower your body's ability to fight infection. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Notify your doctor of any signs of infection, including fever, sore throat, rash, or chills.

Do not substitute Valcyte for ganciclovir because an overdose may occur. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about the brand or dose of your medicine.

Valcyte may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations in which bruising or injury may occur. Report any unusual bleeding, bruising, blood in stools, or dark, tarry stools to your doctor.

Use of Valcyte may increase your risk of developing cancer. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.

When your medicine supply begins to run low, get more from your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. The virus may develop resistance to Valcyte and become more difficult to treat if you stop taking it, even for a short period of time.

Use Valcyte with caution in the ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to its effects.

Chlorotrianisene is a form of estrogen. Estrogen is a female sex hormone necessary for many processes in the body.

Chlorotrianisene is used to treat symptoms of menopause, deficiencies in ovary function (including underdevelopment of female sexual characteristics and some types of infertility), and prostate cancer.

Chlorotrianisene may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Have yearly physical exams and examine your breasts for lumps on a monthly basis while taking chlorotrianisene.

Take chlorotrianisene with food or milk to lessen stomach upset. Do not take chlorotrianisene if you are pregnant.

Do not take chlorotrianisene if you

have breast cancer. Tell your doctor if you have (or have ever had) breast cancer.

have vaginal bleeding that has not been diagnosed. It will be necessary to determine if any abnormal bleeding has a hormonal cause.

have a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder. Chlorotrianisene may increase the risk that a blood clot will form.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you

* have any type of liver or gallbladder disease,

are diabetic,

* suffer from migraines,

have epilepsy or seizures,

have heart disease, or

have kidney disease.

You may need a lower dose or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above.

Chlorotrianisene is in the FDA pregnancy category X. This means that chlortrianisene will cause birth defects in an unborn baby. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. Chlorotrianisene may decrease milk flow and have other effects on milk composition. Do not use this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Take this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

Take each dose with a full glass of water. Take chlorotrianisene with food or milk to lessen stomach upset.

Try to take each dose at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. You may be taking it every day, or you may be taking it every day for 3 weeks with 1 week off each month to mimic your body's natural cycle. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

If you are taking chlorotrianisene to treat cancer, you may be taking it several times a day in very large doses.

Store chlorotrianisene at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose of this medication unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Chlorotrianisene may increase the sensitivity of your skin to sunlight. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when exposure to the sun is unavoidable.

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking chlorotrianisene and seek emergency medical attention:

an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);

a blood clot (pain, redness, and swelling in an arm or leg, shortness of breath, chest pain, headache, blurred vision, or confusion);

a lump in a breast; or

liver damage (yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, abdominal pain or discomfort, unusual bleeding or bruising, severe fatigue).

Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take chlorotrianisene and talk to your doctor if you experience

decreased appetite, nausea, or vomiting;

swollen breasts;

acné or skin color changes;

decreased sex drive;

migraine headaches or dizziness;

water retention (swollen hands, feet, or ankles);

depression; or

changes in your menstrual cycle or breakthrough bleeding.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Chlorotrianisene may decrease the effects of the following drugs:

anticoagulants (blood thinners) such as warfarin (Coumadin). This could lead to blood clots. Your doctor will want to monitor your anticoagulant therapy.

thyroid medications. A larger dose of thyroid medication may be needed.

insulin. Monitor your blood sugar levels and discuss any unusual changes with your doctor.

tamoxifen. Chlorotrianisene should not be taken during therapy with tamoxifen.

Chlorotrianisene may also increase the effects of some medications. The following drugs may have increased or dangerous side effects if taken with chlorotrianisene:

* tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil) and doxepin (Sinequan);

* other commonly used tricyclic antidepressants, including amoxapine (Ascendin), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), and protriptyline (Vivactil); and

didanosine (Videx).

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the medicines listed above.

Other drugs may also affect chlorotrianisene. The effects of chlorotrianisene are decreased by

phenytoin (Dilantin) and ethotoin (Peganone),

carbamazepine (Tegretol),

phenobarbital (Solfoton, Luminal),

primidone (Mysoline), and

rifampin (Rifadin).

You may need larger doses of chlorotrianisene if you are taking any of the medicines listed above.

Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with chlorotrianisene. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

Salmeterol is used for:

Long-term treatment of asthma. It may be used to prevent breathing problems in certain patients, including patients with nighttime asthma, or breathing problems caused by exercise. Salmeterol is a long-acting beta-agonist bronchodilator. It widens the airways in the lungs, which helps you breathe more easily.

Do NOT use Salmeterol if:

* you are allergic to any ingredient in Salmeterol

* you are using another medicine that has a long-acting beta-agonist (eg, fluticasone/salmeterol, formoterol) in it

* To prepare the device for use, open the protective foil pouch and remove the inhaler device. Hold the device in one hand. Use the thumb of the opposite hand to push the thumbgrip as far away from you as it will go. The mouthpiece will appear and snap into position.

* Hold the device in a level, flat position with the mouthpiece towards you. Use your thumb to slide the lever away from you as far as it will go. You should hear a click. The device is now ready for use.

* Do NOT close or tilt the device, play with the lever, or move the lever more than once. You may accidentally release or waste a dose.

* To use a dose of Salmeterol , hold the inhaler level and away from your mouth. Breathe out fully. Do NOT exhale into the device for any reason. Put the mouthpiece to your lips. Breathe in quickly and deeply through your mouth and hold your breath. Remove the inhaler from your mouth. Continue to hold your breath for 10 seconds or as long as possible. Then, breathe out slowly.

* Close the device when you are finished taking a dose. Slide the thumbgrip back towards you as far as it will go. The device will click shut, and the lever will return to its original position.

* Salmeterol delivers your dose as a very fine powder. Most, but not all, patients can taste or feel it. Even if you cannot feel it, do not use more than the recommended dose. If you are not sure if you are receiving your dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

* If you are using Salmeterol to prevent breathing problems caused by exercise, use it at least 30 minutes before you start to exercise. Do not use another dose for at least 12 hours. If you already use Salmeterol twice daily on a regular basis, do NOT take an extra dose before you exercise.

* Discard the inhaler 6 weeks after removing it from the protective foil pouch or after all the blisters have been used, whichever comes first.

* The dose indicator on the device will tell you how many doses are left. The dose indicator will read "0" when all the blisters have been used.

* Never wash the mouthpiece or any other part of the inhaler. Keep it dry and always store it in a dry place.

* Do NOT try to take the unit apart.

* Continue to use Salmeterol even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.

Be sure to carry a short-acting bronchodilator with you at all times to treat any breathing problems that may occur between doses of Salmeterol (eg, severe or sudden onset of wheezing or shortness of breath). If you have any questions about which medicines stop asthma attacks, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

* If you have been regularly using a short-acting bronchodilator inhaler (eg, albuterol), talk with your doctor about how to use it with Salmeterol . Short-acting bronchodilators are normally only used with Salmeterol to treat breathing problems that may occur between doses.

* The risk of serious heart problems (eg, irregular heartbeat) may be greater if you use Salmeterol in high doses. Do NOT use more than the recommended dose or use more often than prescribed.

* If your symptoms do not get better within 1 week of starting Salmeterol , or if they get worse, contact your doctor right away.

* Tell your doctor at once if you notice that your short-acting bronchodilator inhaler does not work as well, if you need to use it often (eg, 4 or more times a day for more than 2 days in a row; more than 1 canister in 8 weeks), or if you have a decrease in your peak flow meter results.

Use Ocuflox Drops as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

* To use Ocuflox Drops in the eye, first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eyelid for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not blink. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean, dry tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them.

* To prevent germs from contaminating your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including the eye. Keep the container tightly closed.

* After using the medicine, rinse the tip of the spray unit in hot water and dry with a clean tissue to prevent contamination.

* It may take 4 to 8 weeks for Nafarelin to work. Continue to use Nafarelin even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.

* Avoid sneezing during or immediately after using Nafarelin , if possible, because Nafarelin 's effectiveness may be decreased.

* Do not exceed the recommended dose or use Nafarelin for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.

* If you are using Nafarelin for CPP, you may experience some signs of puberty (eg, vaginal bleeding, breast enlargement, increased pubic hair) or temporary body odor during the first month of treatment. This is normal. If these side effects persist or are severe, contact your doctor.

* If you are using Nafarelin for endometriosis, you may experience irregular or unusual vaginal bleeding during the first 2 months you use Nafarelin . This is normal. If you experience severe or persistent vaginal bleeding or if you have unusual vaginal bleeding that lasts longer than 2 months after you start Nafarelin , contact your doctor.

* If you are using Nafarelin for endometriosis, your menstrual period should stop while you use Nafarelin . Contact your doctor if your regular menstrual period continues while you are using Nafarelin .

* Women who may become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test before beginning treatment with Nafarelin .

* Women of childbearing age should avoid becoming pregnant while using Nafarelin . To prevent pregnancy, use a nonhormonal form of birth control (eg, condoms) while using Nafarelin .

* Women who miss more than one dose of Nafarelin in a row may experience breakthrough vaginal bleeding and ovulation, with the possibility of pregnancy. Contact your doctor if you miss more than one dose of Nafarelin .

* Halcion can cause memory loss. Take Halcion only when you are able to get a full night's sleep (7 to 8 hours). Be sure to talk with your doctor if you are experiencing memory problems.

* Some patients taking Halcion have performed certain activities while they were not fully awake. These have included sleep-driving, making and eating food, making phone calls, and having sex. Patients often do not remember these events after they happen. Such an event may be more likely to occur if you use a high dose of Halcion . * If your symptoms do not get better within 7 to 10 days or if they get worse, check with your doctor.

It uses magnets and computers to create images or ``pictures'' of certain areas inside the body. Unlike x-rays, it does not involve ionizing radiation.

MRI contrast agents are given by injection before or during MRI to help diagnose problems or diseases of the brain or the spine. In addition, gadopentetate is used to help diagnose problems in other parts of the body, such as the bones and joints, breast, liver, soft tissues, and uterus. Gadoversetamide is also used to help diagnose problems in the liver.

MRI contrast agents may also be used to diagnose other conditions as determined by your doctor.

MRI contrast agents are injected into a vein. The doses of these agents will be different for different patients depending on the weight of the person.

These agents are to be used only by or under the supervision of a doctor.

In deciding to use a diagnostic test, any risks of the test must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. Also, test results may be affected by other things. For MRI contrast agents, the following should be considered:

Allergies—Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to contrast agents such as gadodiamide, gadopentetate, gadoteridol, or gadoversetamide. Also, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.

Pregnancy—Studies have not been done in pregnant women. However, in animal studies, MRI contrast agents caused a delay in development of the animal fetus, increased the risk of losing the fetus, and caused birth defects and other side effects in the offspring when these agents were given to the mother in doses many times the human dose. Also, it is not known yet what effect the magnetic field used in MRI might have on the development of the fetus. Be sure you have discussed this with your doctor.

Breast-feeding—It is not known what amount of MRI contrast agents passes into the breast milk. However, your doctor may want you to stop breast-feeding for some time after you receive an MRI contrast agent. Be sure you have discussed this with your doctor.

Children—Although there is no specific information comparing use of MRI contrast agents in children with use in other age groups, these agents are not expected to cause different side effects or problems in children than they do in adults.

Older adults—These contrast agents have been tested and have not been shown to cause different side effects or problems in older people than they do in younger adults.

Other medical problems—The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of MRI contrast agents. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

* Allergies or asthma (history of)—If you have a history of allergies or asthma, you may be at greater risk of having an allergic reaction to the contrast agent

* Anemia or

Oxacillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as a staphylococcal (also called "staph") infection.

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to oxacillin or to any other penicillin antibiotic, such as amoxicillin (Amoxil), ampicillin (Omnipen, Principen), carbenicillin (Geocillin), dicloxacillin (Dycill, Dynapen), penicillin (Beepen-VK, Ledercillin VK, Pen-V, Pen-Vee K, Pfizerpen, V-Cillin K, Veetids), and others.

Before using oxacillin, tell your doctor if you are allergic to cephalosporins such as Ceclor, Ceftin, Duricef, Keflex, and others, or if you have asthma, liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of any type of allergy.

Oxacillin can make birth control pills less effective, which may result in pregnancy. Before taking oxacillin, tell your doctor if you use birth control pills. Take this medication for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated. Oxacillin will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Do not share this medication with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.

Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Take the medicine with a full glass of water. Oxacillin should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating a meal.

To be sure this medication is helping your condition, your blood will need to be tested on a regular basis. Your kidney or liver function may also need to be tested. Do not miss any scheduled visits to your doctor.

Take this medication for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated. Oxacillin will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Do not share oxacillin with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.

Methylprednisolone is used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.

Methylprednisolone may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

You should not use this medication if you are allergic to methylprednisolone, or if you have a fungal infection anywhere in your body.

Before taking methylprednisolone, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, and about all other medicines you are using. There are many other diseases that can be affected by steroid use, and many other medicines that can interact with steroids.

Your steroid medication needs may change if you have any unusual stress such as a serious illness, fever or infection, or if you have surgery or a medical emergency. Tell your doctor about any such situation that affects you during treatment.

Steroid medication can weaken your immune system, making it easier for you to get an infection or worsening an infection you already have or have recently had. Tell your doctor about any illness or infection you have had within the past several weeks.

Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox or measles. These conditions can be serious or even fatal in people who are using steroid medication.

Do not receive a "live" vaccine while you are taking methylprednisolone. Vaccines may not work as well while you are taking a steroid.

Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results from this medication.

Your steroid medication needs may change if you have unusual stress such as a serious illness, fever or infection, or if you have surgery or a medical emergency. Tell your doctor about any such situation that affects you.

This medication can cause you to have unusual results with certain medical tests. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using methylprednisolone.

Do not stop using methylprednisolone suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Talk to your doctor about how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when stopping the medication. Carry an ID card or wear a medical alert bracelet stating that you are taking a steroid, in case of emergency. Any doctor, dentist, or emergency medical care provider who treats you should know that you are taking steroid medication. Store methylprednisolone at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

There are many other medicines that can interact with steroids. Below is only a partial list of these medicines:

aspirin (taken on a daily basis or at high doses);

a diuretic (water pill);

a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);

cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune);

insulin or diabetes medications you take by mouth;

antibiotics such as ketoconazole (Nizoral), rifampin (Rifadin, Rifater, Rifamate, Rimactane), or troleandomycin (Tao); or

seizure medications such as phenytoin (Dilantin) or phenobarbital (Luminal, Solfoton).

Sparfloxacin is in the FDA pregnancy category C. This means that it is not known whether sparfloxacin will be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment. Sparfloxacin passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. It may affect bone development. Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Sparfloxacin is not approved for use by children younger than 12 years of age. Sparfloxacin may interfere with bone development.

Take sparfloxacin exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

If sun exposure is unavoidable, wear protective clothing and sunscreen. Call your doctor if you experience severe burning, redness, itching, rash, or swelling after exposure to the sun. Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Sparfloxacin may cause dizziness. If you experience dizziness, avoid these activities.

terfenadine (Seldane, Seldane-D) or astemizole (Hismanal);

a tricyclic antidepressant including amitriptyline (Elavil, Endep), amoxapine (Asendin), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), doxepin (Sinequan), and others;

a phenothiazine including chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), perphenazine (Trilafon), mesoridazine (Serentil), thioridazine (Mellaril), and others;

erythromycin (E-Mycin, Ery-Tab, E.E.S., others); or

cisapride (Propulsid).

Sparfloxacin and the drugs listed above may affect the rhythm of your heartbeats. You may not be able to take sparfloxacin, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicines listed above.

Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with sparfloxacin. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products.

Cancer therapy with Xeloda

Xeloda is a cancer (chemotherapeutic) medication. Xeloda interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body.

Xeloda is used in the treatment of some types of breast and colorectal cancers.

Xeloda should only be prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider experienced in the use of cancer chemotherapeutic agents.

Talk to your doctor if you are taking the blood thinner warfarin (Coumadin). In some cases, severe bleeding and death have resulted when these medications were taken together, or when treatment with warfarin (Coumadin) was started in the month following treatment with Xeloda. If treatment with both medications is determined by your doctor to be necessary, special monitoring will be required.

If the dose of Xeloda prescribed for you requires a combination of different strength tablets, it is very important that you correctly identify the tablets to ensure the correct dose. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions regarding a dose.

Stop taking Xeloda and notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: more than 4 bowel movements per day or diarrhea at night; vomiting more than once in a 24-hour period; the amount of food you eat each day is much less than usual or if you are only able to eat at certain times; pain, redness, swelling, or sores in or around the mouth; tingling, numbness, pain, swelling, or redness of the hands and/or feet (hand-and-foot syndrome); or fever (temperature greater than 100.5 degrees) or other evidence of infection.

Do not take Xeloda without first talking to your doctor if you are allergic to fluorouracil (Adrucil).

Before taking Xeloda, tell your doctor if you

* have liver disease or a history of liver problems;

* have kidney disease;

have heart or coronary artery disease; or

are taking any other medicines especially warfarin (Coumadin), phenytoin (Dilantin), folic acid (found in some vitamins), or leucovorin (Wellcovorin).

You may not be able to take Xeloda, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during therapy if you have any of the conditions listed above.

Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment. Xeloda is in the FDA pregnancy category D. This means that it is known to cause birth defects in an unborn baby. Contraceptive measures are recommended for both men and women during treatment with Xeloda. It is not known whether Xeloda will harm a nursing infant. Do not take Xeloda without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding. The safety and effectiveness of Xeloda in patients younger than 18 years of age have not been established. If you are over the age of 80, you may be more likely to experience side effects from Xeloda.

Xeloda should only be prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider experienced in the use of cancer chemotherapeutic agents.

Take Xeloda exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

Wellbutrin is used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder. At least one brand of bupropion (Zyban) is used to help people stop smoking by reducing cravings and other withdrawal effects.

Wellbutrin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Do not take Wellbutrin if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. You should not take Wellbutrin if you have seizures, an eating disorder, if you are using a second form of bupropion, or if you have suddenly stopped using alcohol or sedatives.

Wellbutrin may cause seizures, especially in people with certain medical conditions or when using certain drugs. Tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions and the drugs you use.

You may have thoughts about suicide when you first start taking an antidepressant, especially if you are younger than 24 years old. Your doctor will need to check you at regular visits for at least the first 12 weeks of treatment.

Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Wellbutrin. Alcohol may increase your risk of a seizure while you are taking Wellbutrin.

Avoid using bupropion to treat more than one condition at a time. If you take Wellbutrin for depression, do not also take Zyban to quit smoking. Too much of this medicine can increase your risk of a seizure.

Bupropion can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.

Valacyclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. It will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection.

Valacyclovir is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses in adults and children. Illnesses caused by herpes viruses include genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chickenpox.

Valacyclovir is used to treat cold sores in children who are at least 12 years old, and to treat chickenpox in children who are at least 2 years old.

Valacyclovir may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before taking valacyclovir, tell your doctor if you have HIV/AIDS, a weak immune system, kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis), or if you have had a kidney or bone marrow transplant.

Valacyclovir can be harmful to the kidneys, and these effects are increased when it is used together with other medicines that can harm the kidneys. Tell your doctor about all other medications you are using. You may need dose adjustments or special tests when taking certain medications together with valacyclovir.

Treatment with valacyclovir should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (such as tingling, burning, blisters).

Herpes virus can be passed from an infected mother to her baby during childbirth. If you have genital herpes, it is very important to prevent herpes lesions during your pregnancy so that you do not have a genital lesion when your baby is born.

Valacyclovir will not prevent the spread of genital herpes. Herpes infections are contagious and you can infect other people even while you are taking this medicine.

Stop taking valacyclovir and call your doctor right away if you have any signs of a serious side effect that can harm red blood cells, such as: fever, easy bruising or bleeding, red spots on the skin (not related to herpes or chickenpox), bloody diarrhea, vomiting, pale or yellowed skin, weakness, fainting, or urinating less than usual or not at all.

Do not give valacyclovir to a child unless it has been prescribed by a doctor.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to valacyclovir or acyclovir (Zovirax).

If you have certain conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take this medication. Before taking valacyclovir, tell your doctor if you have:

HIV/AIDS, or other conditions that can weaken the immune system;

kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis); or

Take each dose with a full glass of water. Drink plenty of water while you are taking valacyclovir to keep your kidneys working properly. Shake the oral suspension (liquid) well just before you measure a dose. To be sure you get the correct dose, measure the liquid with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup, not with a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

Valacyclovir can be taken with or without food.

Take this medication for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated. Valacyclovir will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.

Lesions caused by herpes viruses should be kept as clean and dry as possible. Wearing loose clothing may help to prevent irritation of the lesions.

Store valacyclovir tablets at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Store the liquid in a refrigerator. Do not freeze. Throw away any unused valacyclovir liquid that is older than 28 days.

Valacyclovir will not prevent the spread of genital herpes. Herpes infections are contagious and you can infect other people even while you are this medicine.

Avoid sexual intercourse or use a latex condom to prevent spreading the virus to others. Avoid letting infected areas come into contact with other people. Avoid touching an infected area and then touching your eyes. Wash your hands frequently to prevent passing the infection to others.

Ultane is usually handled and stored by a health care provider. If you are using Ultane at home, store Ultane as directed by your pharmacist or health care provider. Keep Ultane out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Topical medicine for acne

For best results, you should continue the treatment for as long as prescribed, even if your acne begins to clear up. This medicine is not an instant cure.

Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Thoroughly wash the affected area with soap and water and pat dry before applying medication.

Moisten the applicator or pad with the medication and lightly spread it over the affected area. A/T/S Topical Gel should not be rubbed in.

* If you miss a dose...

Apply the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next application, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule.

* Storage instructions...

This medicine can be stored at room temperature.

Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using topical erythromycin.

* Side effects may include:

Burning sensation, dryness, hives, irritation of the eyes, itching, oiliness, peeling, scaling, tenderness, unusual redness of the skin

This type of erythromycin is for external use only. Do not use it in the eyes, nose, or mouth.

If the acne does not improve after 6 to 8 weeks of treatment, or if it gets worse, stop using the topical erythromycin preparation and call your doctor.

The use of antibiotics can stimulate the growth of other bacteria that are resistant to the antibiotic you are taking. If new infections (called superinfections) occur, talk to your doctor. You may need to be treated with a different antibiotic drug.

If you develop diarrhea, let your doctor know right away. Drugs such as erythromycin can cause a potentially serious intestinal inflammation.

The use of other topical acne medications in combination with topical erythromycin may cause irritation, especially with the use of peeling, scaling, or abrasive medications.

The safety and effectiveness of A/T/S and Erycette have not been established in children.

If topical erythromycin is used with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining topical erythromycin with other topical acne medications.

The effects of topical erythromycin during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Erythromycin may appear in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. If T-Stat is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to stop breastfeeding until your treatment with erythromycin is finished.

Apply solution to the affected area 2 times a day. Moisten the applicator or a pad, then spread over the affected area. Use additional pads as needed. Apply gel products as a thin film over the affected area once or twice a day.

Make sure the area is thoroughly washed with soap and water and patted dry before applying medication. Thoroughly wash your hands after application of the medication.

Reducing the frequency of applications may reduce peeling and drying.

* if you are a child with a stroke, a weakened blood vessel (cerebral aneurysm) or bleeding in the brain, or Kawasaki syndrome (a rare inflammation causing heart problems in children)

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any of the following medicines, especially any of the following:

* Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (eg, acetazolamide) because they may decrease Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide 's effectiveness

* Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) or NSAIDs (eg, celecoxib, ibuprofen, naproxen) because the risk of side effects, including bleeding, may be increased by Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide

* Insulin, isoniazid, oral hypoglycemics (eg, glyburide), or quinolone antibiotics (eg, ciprofloxacin) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide

* Methotrexate, theophylline, or valproic acid because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide

* Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (eg, enalapril), probenecid, or sulfinpyrazone because their effectiveness may be decreased by Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

Use Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

* Take Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation.

* Take Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide .

* Use Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide exactly as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. If you are taking Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide without a prescription, follow any warnings and precautions on the label.

* If you miss a dose of Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide .

* Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide has acetaminophen and aspirin in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has acetaminophen or aspirin in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

* Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide may harm your liver. Your risk may be greater if you drink alcohol while you are using Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide . Talk to your doctor before you take Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide or other fever reducers if you drink more than 3 drinks with alcohol per day.

* Aspirin has been linked to a serious illness called Reye syndrome. Do not give Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide to a child or teenager who has the flu, chickenpox, or a viral infection. Contact your doctor with any questions or concerns.

* Avoid large amounts of food or drink that have caffeine (eg, coffee, tea, cocoa, cola, chocolate).

* Serious stomach ulcers or bleeding can occur with the use of Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide . Taking it in high doses or for a long time, smoking, or drinking alcohol increases the risk of these side effects. Taking Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide with food will NOT reduce the risk of these effects. Contact your doctor or emergency room at once if you develop severe stomach or back pain; black, tarry stools; vomit that looks like blood or coffee grounds; or unusual weight gain or swelling.

* Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. Avoid activities that may cause bruising or injury. Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor if you have dark, tarry, or bloody stools.

* Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

* Do not take Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide for at least 7 days after any surgery unless directed by your health care provider.

* Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide may cause false results with some in-home test kits for blood cholesterol. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide and need to check your blood cholesterol at home.

* PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide while you are pregnant. Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide is not recommended during the last 3 months (third trimester) of pregnancy due to the potential for fetal harm or complications during delivery. Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide , check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Store Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine/Salicylamide out of the reach of children and away from pets.
