Ocuflox Eye Drops

Ocuflox Drops is used for:

Treating and preventing eye infections associated with conjunctivitis (pink eye) and corneal ulcers caused by certain bacteria in patients 1 year of age and older.

Ocuflox Drops is an ophthalmic fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It stops or prevents bacterial infections of the eyeball by either killing susceptible bacteria or inhibiting their growth.

                       Use Ocuflox Drops as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

    * To use Ocuflox Drops in the eye, first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eyelid for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not blink. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean, dry tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them.

    * To prevent germs from contaminating your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including the eye. Keep the container tightly closed.

    * Do not wear contact lenses while you are using Ocuflox Drops. Take care of your contact lenses as directed by the manufacturer. Check with your doctor before you use them.

    * Ocuflox Drops works best if used at the same time each day.

    * To clear up your infection completely, use Ocuflox Drops for the full course of treatment. Keep using it even if you feel better in a few days.

    * If you miss a dose of Ocuflox Drops, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Ocuflox Drops.

                             * Ocuflox Drops may cause blurred vision. Use Ocuflox Drops with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks if you cannot see clearly.

    * Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Ocuflox Drops before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

    * Be sure to use Ocuflox Drops for the full course of treatment. If you do not, the medicine may not clear up your infection completely. The bacteria could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.

    * Do not use Ocuflox Drops for future eye problems unless directed by your doctor.

    * Ocuflox Drops should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 1 year old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.

    * PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Ocuflox Drops while you are pregnant. It is not known if Ocuflox Drops is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Ocuflox Drops.

                        All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

    Blurred vision; burning or discomfort in the eye, including stinging, redness, and itching; dry eyes; eye pain; foreign body sensation; sensitivity to sunlight; tearing.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

    Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); infection (fever, chills, sore throat); itching; loss of consciousness; redness; unusual sensitivity to light.

                         Store Ocuflox Drops at room temperature, between 59 degrees and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C). Store in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Ocuflox Drops out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Econopred Plus Drops

Econopred Plus Drops is used for:

Treating inflammation of the eyes and eyelids due to certain conditions. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Econopred Plus Drops is an ophthalmic corticosteroid. Exactly how Econopred Plus Drops works is not known.

                   Do NOT use Econopred Plus Drops if:

    * you are allergic to any ingredient in Econopred Plus Drops or to other corticosteroids (eg, prednisone)

    * you have certain eye infections (eg, herpes, tuberculosis, fungal, or viral infections), chickenpox, or an infection due to smallpox vaccination (vaccinia)

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

                   Some medical conditions may interact with Econopred Plus Drops. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

    * if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

    * if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

    * if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

    * if you have diabetes, glaucoma, optic nerve damage, or thinning of the cornea or other eye tissues

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Econopred Plus Drops. Because little, if any, of Econopred Plus Drops is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.

Ask your health care provider if Econopred Plus Drops may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

                    Use Econopred Plus Drops as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

    * Shake well before each use.

    * To use Econopred Plus Drops in the eye, first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eyelid for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not blink.     * If your doctor prescribed more than 1 eye medicine, ask the best order for using each medicine.

    * Do not wear contact lenses while you are using Econopred Plus Drops. Take care of your contact lenses as directed by the manufacturer. Check with your doctor before you use them.

    * If you miss a dose of Econopred Plus Drops, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Econopred Plus Drops.

                          * Econopred Plus Drops may cause blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Econopred Plus Drops with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.

    * Some of these products contain sulfites. Sulfites may cause an allergic reaction in some patients (eg, asthma patients). If you have ever had an allergic reaction to sulfites, ask your pharmacist if your product has sulfites in it.

    * Do NOT use more than the recommended dose or use for future eye problems without checking with your doctor.

    * Lab tests, including eye exams, may be performed while you use Econopred Plus Drops. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

    * Econopred Plus Drops should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.

    * PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Econopred Plus Drops while you are pregnant. It is not known if Econopred Plus Drops is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Econopred Plus Drops.

                       Store Econopred Plus Drops at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not freeze. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Econopred Plus Drops out of the reach of children and away from pets.

                  

Ocuclear

OcuClear Drops is used for:

Relieving redness in the eye caused by minor irritation.

OcuClear Drops is a decongestant used in the eye. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the eye, which helps you by relieving irritation.

Use OcuClear Drops as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

* If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using OcuClear Drops.

* To use OcuClear Drops, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eye and continue to apply pressure for 1 to 2 minutes after using the medicine. Do not blink. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them. To prevent germs from entering your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including your eye. Keep the container tightly closed.

* If you miss a dose of OcuClear Drops and are using it regularly, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use OcuClear Drops.

* Do not exceed the recommended dose or use OcuClear Drops for longer than 3 days without checking with your doctor. If your symptoms do not improve within 3 days or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

* OcuClear Drops is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 6 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.

* PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING: If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using OcuClear Drops during pregnancy. It is unknown if OcuClear Drops is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using OcuClear Drops, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Store OcuClear Drops at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat and light. Keep OcuClear Drops out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Zaditor

Zaditor Drops is used for:

Temporary prevention of itching of the eye due to allergies.

Zaditor Drops is an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. It works by blocking the release of chemicals from cells involved in allergic reactions.

Use Zaditor Drops as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

* To use Zaditor Drops in the eye, first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back. Using your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eyelid for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not blink. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean, dry tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them.

* To prevent germs from contaminating your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including the eye. Keep the container tightly closed.

* Zaditor Drops is only for the eye. Do not get it in your nose or mouth.

* Do not wear contact lenses if your eye is red.

* Do not use Zaditor Drops to treat irritation caused by contact lenses.

* Remove contact lenses before you use Zaditor Drops; soft contact lenses may be placed back in the eyes 10 minutes after use of Zaditor Drops if your eyes are not red.

* If you miss a dose of Zaditor Drops, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Zaditor Drops.

* Zaditor Drops may cause mild stinging when you first put it in your eye. Contact your doctor if the stinging continues.

* Do not use Zaditor Drops for future eye problems without first checking with your doctor.

* Zaditor Drops may cause harm if it is swallowed. If you may have taken it by mouth, contact your poison control center or emergency room right away.

* Zaditor Drops should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 3 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.

* PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Zaditor Drops while you are pregnant. It is not known if Zaditor Drops is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Zaditor Drops, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Store Zaditor Drops at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Store in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Zaditor Drops out of the reach of children and away from pets.

* If you have any questions about Zaditor Drops, please talk with your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider.

* Zaditor Drops is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.

* If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

Xalatan

Xalatan reduces pressure in the eye by increasing the amount of fluid that drains from the eye. It works by increasing fluid drainage from the eye.

Xalatan is used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye.

Xalatan may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

                  Do not use Xalatan while you are wearing contact lenses. This medication may contain a preservative that can be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Xalatan before putting your contact lenses in.

Xalatan may cause a gradual change in the color of your eyes or eyelids and lashes, as well as increased growth or thickness of your eyelashes. These color changes, usually an increase in brown pigment, occur slowly and you may not notice them for months or years. Color changes may be permanent even after your treatment ends, and may occur only in the eye being treated. This could result in a cosmetic difference in eye or eyelash color from one eye to the other.

Do not allow the dropper to touch any surface, including the eyes or hands. If the dropper becomes contaminated it could cause an infection in your eye, which can lead to vision loss or serious damage to the eye.

After using Xalatan, wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops that your doctor has prescribed.

                       Do not use Xalatan if you are allergic to latanoprost.

Before using Xalatan, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have swelling or infection of your eye.

Xalatan may cause a gradual change in the color of your eyes or eyelids and lashes, as well as increased growth or thickness of your eyelashes. These color changes, usually an increase in brown pigment, occur slowly and you may not notice them for months or years. Color changes may be permanent even after your treatment ends, and may occur only in the eye being treated. This could result in a cosmetic difference in eye or eyelash color from one eye to the other.

FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether Xalatan passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

                     Do not use Xalatan while you are wearing contact lenses. This medication may contain a preservative that can be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Xalatan before putting your contact lenses in.

Use this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not use the medication in larger amounts, or use it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the instructions on your prescription label.

Wash your hands before using the Xalatan eye drops.

To apply the eye drops:

      Tilt your head back slightly and pull down on the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye with the dropper tip down. Look up and away from the dropper. Squeeze out a drop and close your eye. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye (near the nose) for about 1 minute to keep the liquid from draining into your tear duct.

      If you use more than one drop in the same eye, wait about 5 minutes before putting in the next drop. Also wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops that your doctor has prescribed.

Do not allow the dropper to touch any surface, including the eyes or hands. If the dropper becomes contaminated it could cause an infection in your eye, which can lead to vision loss or serious damage to the eye. At any time during your use of Xalatan, tell your doctor at once if you have an eye injury, if you develop an eye infection, or if you plan to have eye surgery. Do not use the Xalatan eye drops if the liquid changes colors or has particles in it.

Store an unopened bottle of Xalatan eye drops in a refrigerator. Once you have opened and begun using the drops, you may store them at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Do not use the Xalatan eye drops if it has been longer than 6 weeks since you first opened the bottle. If you still need to use the medication, call your doctor for a new prescription.
